Leadership training
Above all else, pastors must be men of integrity and the servants of all. Although knowledge is essential for leadership, godly leaders must go much farther than simply knowing about God or about the Bible. Their knowledge must be applied and must result in the development of godly character.
That’s why at Stonebrook, we train our pastors right within the church, rather than sending them away to seminary. It’s within the church that men can best develop their character and ministry skills, while still gaining the theological knowledge that they need. We seek to pattern the training of our leaders as closely as possible after the method used by our Lord. Jesus selected twelve men to be with Him in ministry so that they could learn from His example. Then He sent them out to do ministry on their own while supervising their efforts.
All of our pastors at Stonebrook have been trained in an apprenticeship program within our church. Pastors grow into their positions as they grow in their faith and serve within the church, demonstrating faithfulness in leading out within various ministry areas and within their own families.
