This Week’s Sermon – Pastor Mike will preach on “Proverbs: In Training.” We are continuing our series on Proverbs this Sunday on another important topic of how God makes things work. Proverbs contains many contrasts of two paths to follow in life – wisdom or foolishness. Training and discipline are needed on the wise path. This often-repeated call from wisdom will be introduced. Paul encourages Timothy to “train yourself in godliness” in 1 Tim 4:7-8. We are also to follow.
Memory Verse – 1 Tim. 4:7-10 “But have nothing to do with pointless and silly myths. Rather, train yourself in godliness. For the training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance. For this reason we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.” (CSB)
