Women’s Summer Bible Study – Join us for this 5 session bible study this summer beginning Monday, June 7th at 7 p.m. hybrid (at the church or on zoom) or on Wednesday, June 9th at 6:30 a.m. To sign up drop payment and which session you’d like to join at the office.  Cost is $15 (scholarships available if needed). Register by June 4.  Email for questions.

The Faithful: Heroes of the Old Testament: Explore crucial moments in the lives of 5 Old Testament figures: Queen Esther, Gideon, Hosea, Malachi and Nehemiah. Through their stories, discover how God uses the lives of ordinary people for His glory and the good of His people.

Memorial Services – There will be a memorial service Saturday, June 5th at 4 p.m. at Stonebrook church for Jeff Moore, a former member of Stonebrook (visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. at Stonebrook). Jeff was on the church planting team that went to East Lansing, Michigan with Dave and Dawn Bovenmyer back in 1977. He was married to Peg (Gunderson) who also attended our church and was on the church plant as well. Any questions can be directed to Dave Bovenmyer (

There will be a memorial service Saturday, June 12 at 1:00 p.m. (visitation at 1 p.m., and service at 2 p.m.) at Stonebrook church for Dick and Helen Opperman (parents of Vicki Jones). Dick passed away on April 30, and Helen passed away on May 26. Any questions can be directed to Terri Huffman (

Welcome Table Volunteers Needed – The Stonebrook Welcome Table is back and ready to show hospitality to our guests and visitors! We are looking for warm, friendly faces with a heart of hospitality to man the table on Sundays. Stonecup Starting Back up on June 20 – We will start Stonecup back up in the kitchen after the service on June 20! Stonecup is a fellowship time offering coffee and snacks. Pastor’s Weekly Podcasts – Have you had a chance yet to listen to the Stonebrook Pastor’s podcast? These podcasts cover a variety of topics of interest to Christians. BLAST – Parents of K-4th grade students – We are sending out weekly BLAST e-mails that include our Bible story, Christ connection, and activity sheets.  Please email Naomi ( if you’d like to be added to or taken off that email list. 

For Kids – Dawn Bovenmyer has created some Sunday school videos for your young children to enjoy as an additional activity before or after services on Sundays. Come join Mrs. Bovenmyer and her trusty sidekick Scout for singing, Bible stories, and lots of fun!

Ways to Give at Stonebrook – There are a number of giving tools available at Stonebrook.

  1. Mail a check to Stonebrook Community Church, 3611 Eisenhower Ave., Ames, IA 50010.
  2. Use your own bank’s bill pay system
  3. Fill out a form to authorize Stonebrook to withdraw a certain amount from your bank account on the 5th of each month. Talk to Heidi in the office to get the form.
  4. Use the online giving Web portal.

Note: Donating by bank account rather than credit card will result in lower processing fees for Stonebrook.
