No Ministry Bake Sale this Week – The youth from the Parent and Teen Ministry met their goal of $250 with last week’s bake sale, so they will not host another one this week. Thanks for your generosity!
Discovery Classes Start October 10 – The next series of Discovery Classes has been rescheduled. The classes will be held October 10 and 17 during the church service, and the evening of October 24. Discovery classes are open to people who are interested in finding out more about Stonebrook’s beliefs, history, vision, structure and possible membership.
Update on Construction – Progress continues!
- Tile was installed in the new bathroom, and preparation for tile installation in the entryway was completed.
- Doors were installed in the new nursery and the new Sunday school room.
- The countertop, sink, faucet, and dishwasher were installed in the new nursery.
- The furniture for the gathering space has been delivered and set up.

National Night Out – Stonebrook is pleased to support this year’s National Night Out, along with Hope in Christ and the Ames Police Department. This event will be a back to school celebration. The theme is to Love Your Neighbor! Free backpacks with school supplies will be offered! The event will be Tuesday, August 3rd from 6-9 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 2400 Mortensen Road. They have ordered many hundreds of backpacks with the exact supplies needed for each grade but recommend getting there a little early to make sure you are able to get a backpack before they run out. There is NOT any prior registration needed.

Let your friends, relatives, and neighbors know that they are welcome to watch, a great opportunity for them to hear God’s word! PARENTS: find a special PDF print-out to help your kids engage in the service.
BLAST – Parents of K-4th grade students – We are sending out weekly BLAST e-mails that include our Bible story, Christ connection, and activity sheets. Please email Naomi (email@example.com) if you’d like to be added to or taken off that email list.
For Kids – Dawn Bovenmyer has created some Sunday school videos for your young children to enjoy as an additional activity before or after services on Sundays. Come join Mrs. Bovenmyer and her trusty sidekick Scout for singing, Bible stories, and lots of fun!

Prayer and Care – Please pray for Mike and Kris Boyd as they grieve the loss of Kris’s mother, Margie Sellers, on July 25.
This Week’s Sermon – Pastor Matt will preach on “State of the Church.” This Sunday, join us as we take a look back over the past 18 months, and ahead into the coming years and examine where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going. As a church we will discuss the causes we have for lament, gratitude, hope, and expectation that God is going to work in our midst now and into the future.

- Use your own bank’s bill pay system
- Fill out a form to authorize Stonebrook to withdraw a certain amount from your bank account on the 5th of each month. Talk to Heidi in the office to get the form.
- Use the online giving Web portal.
