Announcements for the Week of Sept. 12

State-and-Local Missions Mini-Fundraiser!

This fall, we have an incredible opportunity to make a big impact on our community and state through a financial contribution.

Our pastors and deacons have identified two organizations that we support –“Together for Good,” an organization with an incredible vision to come alongside vulnerable families in Iowa in times of crisis, and the Iowa Ministry Fund which resources organizations focused on issues such as crisis pregnancy, addiction recovery, adoption and foster care, religious liberty, disaster relief, human trafficking, and more.

Our regular offering does contribute to these two organizations already, and our goal is to raise an additional $12,000 or more for these two organizations, this month and next, to help boost their ability to provide services to needy Iowans even further.

For more information on these organizations, go to and

Make your contribution at, or bring your offering on Sunday.

This Week’s Sermon

Pastor Matt will preach on “The Gospel of Luke: We Have Seen Extraordinary Things Today!” In this week’s passage, we are introduced to four sets of people: the first disciples, a leper, a paralytic and his friends, and the pharisees. Through his interactions with these four very diverse people, Jesus shows us that he has the power, willingness, and authority to heal and forgive sin for anyone who comes to him in faith.

Memory Verse – Luke 5:22-24 “When Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them, “Why do you question in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the man who was paralyzed—“I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home.”
