State-and-Local Missions Mini-Fundraiser
This fall, we have an incredible opportunity to make a big impact on our community and state through a financial contribution.
Our pastors and deacons have identified two organizations that we support –“Together for Good,” an organization with an incredible vision to come alongside vulnerable families in Iowa in times of crisis, and the Iowa Ministry Fund which resources organizations focused on issues such as crisis pregnancy, addiction recovery, adoption and foster care, religious liberty, disaster relief, human trafficking, and more.
Our regular offering does contribute to these two organizations already, and our goal is to raise an additional $12,000 or more for these two organizations, this month and next, to help boost their ability to provide services to needy Iowans even further. For more information on these organizations, go to bciowa.org/imo and https://tfgood.org. Make your contribution at stonebrook.org/giving/, or bring your offering on Sunday.
Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Drive
Stop by the Operation Christmas Child table on Sunday and pick up G.O. Boxes to fill and return on Collection Sunday, November 14th!
If you’d rather pack a shoebox online, visit our Goal Page and follow the instructions. This will cost $25 and these boxes go to restricted countries. For more info on that, you can check out this informational video or stop by our booth after church.

ISM Food Sign Up
Our international student ministry (ISM) has been meeting international students every Saturday at the church. Our goal is to build healthy love relationships that revolve around God’s truth. We serve dinner, followed by discussion and games every Saturday. Currently, the average attendance is 30-50 people/week.
These students are away from their homes and our Saturday night provide a place for them to feel loved and cared for. Hence, we would like to offer this opportunity for you to serve this ministry by preparing food (servings of 8 or more) to share. Any type of food is welcome.
Here is a Google drive link to access to the food sign up list. If you are interested, put your name and the type of food you are providing, along with a little note (optional) about what you would like us to know about you or the reason you are sharing the meal. The students will be happy to hear it!

This Week’s Sermon
Pastor Brad will preach onLuke 7:1-17 “The Authority and Compassion of Christ.” In our passage this week, we will see Jesus in action once again, this time in two remarkable stories, one of healing a dying man, and the other raising a dead man to life. We must ask, who is this Jesus? Who else speaks and acts with such authority that is combined with tender compassion? The answer: there is no one like him, no one else who is worthy of our trust and admiration.
Memory Verse: Luke 7:7 “Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But say the word, and let my servant be healed.”
