Revelation 19:1-16

  1. Use a modern dictionary and a bible dictionary to record the meaning of the words “Hallelujah” and “Almighty”
  2. In verses 19: 1-8 what are the three major reasons the “Hallelujah Chorus/Song of Praise” is sung in heaven? (Hint…look for the word “because”)
  3. List the attributes of God emphasized in the verses 19:1-10.  Why is God truly the only one worthy of praise?  
  4. Review Revelation 14:10-11 and Revelation 5:6-10.  List the similarities between these passages and Revelation 19:3-4.
  5. How is the Lamb’s bride dressed in vs 8? Based on Isaiah 64:6 what can we conclude about how the bride dressed when arriving in heaven at the judgement seat of Christ?
  6. How and to whom was John redirected in his worship in vs. 10? 
  7. In what way does the rider of the white horse in Revelation 19:11 differ from the rider on the white horse in Rev. 6?
  8. What names are given to describe the Rider on the White horse?
  9. Where else in scripture have you read the name “King of Kings and Lord of Lords?”
  10. Based on the whole of scripture, list as many other names that refer to Jesus that come to mind?  What is your favorite name for Jesus and why?
  11. How is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords described in vs 11-16?
  12. What has the sword typically represented in the New Testament? (Hint: Ephesians 6:12; Hebrews 4:12). 

Application:

  1. There is much celebration in Heaven recorded in chapter 19.  What about the future rejoicing helps me to rejoice in my worship of God right now?
  2. What has God provided to convince people that His word is faithful and true?  What would I say to someone that asks me why I believe the Bible to be the true word of God?
  3. How does mediating the power and victory of Christ at the cross and also Christ in this text impact my view of whatever challenge is facing me right now?
