COVID-19 Ministry Update 4-30-20

Dear Stonebrook, In light of the Governor’s recent proclamation that gave permission for churches to consider reopening, we sent you all a survey. With 105 responses submitted so far, we were not surprised to see a wide range of responses. Some of you are ready to resume services, others of you may not be ready for a long time, and many in between. We’ll compile the final results and send them to you. At the heart of the Governor’s declaration is a…

COVID-19 Ministry Update 4-17-20

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Stonebrook, We live in a strange time. If you were to read the Bible in the original language it was written in (Greek), when you came across the word “church” you would see the word “ekklesia” – and your brain would do the same thing when we read the word “gathering” or “assembly of people.”   The church is meant to gather or assemble in person. And we can’t do that right now. And that is…

Kids Activities for the Homebound

Kid’s Activities for the Homebound by Dawn Bovenmyer In light of the recent developments of Covid19, families have been presented new opportunities to bond at home. But “cabin fever” can sure poke its own head into our homes as the days pass. Here are a few suggestions from years of parenting and grandparenting that might help out with that “what should we do??” question. God bless everyone! Make up puppet shows or shows with stuffed animals. This can also be…

COVID-19 Ministry Update 3-17-20

Dear Stonebrook, As many you have already heard, Governor Kim Reynolds has proclaimed a state of public health disaster emergency. This adds to the already issued presidential declaration of national emergency and affects our ministry in a serious way, specifically outlawing gatherings of more than 10 people until the disaster terminates (currently set to expire on March 31.) The elders met today with some of the staff and counseled about how best to respond to this and want you to know a few…

However, we are planning to livestream our service on Sunday morning.  You can find details about how to join that livestream at stonebrook.org/how-to-livestream/.  So we encourage you to gather on Sunday morning with your family, roommates,…

COVID-19 Ministry Update 3-12-20

Dear Stonebrook, We have been closely following the news related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) the last few weeks. Like many of you, we are thinking and praying about how to best prepare and protect our families and church. Some of you have asked what Stonebrook Church is doing (specifically) to prepare?       As your pastors, foremost, we have been praying for God’s protection and guidance (Philippians 4:6-7).  We must remember that the Lord is in charge of these events and they…
