Summer Barber is the Communications Coordinator and Director of Women’s Ministry at Stonebrook Church. She, and her husband Kevin, moved to Ames in 2004 and couldn’t have asked for a better community in which to raise their three children. Toby serves part-time as campus ministry staff for our college ministry, Campus Fellowship. Toby has a heart to reach the campus of Iowa State University with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and see it come alive in students’ hearts. His role on staff entails discipling students, evangelizing on campus, planning/leading events, and teaching at CF’s midweek services. Allison joined the Stonebrook staff in 2022, after serving in a parachurch camping ministry for 3 years. She graduated with her Bachelor’s from the University of Northern Iowa in 2018 and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Biblical Counseling online through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. At Stonebrook, Allison serves as part of the Campus Fellowship college ministry staff and coordinates the children’s ministry. She is passionate about learning, and loves making others’ days a little brighter through a well-timed pun.
Joyce has been married to John for 30 years and they have 4 children, 3 who are now adults. She will finish her last year of homeschooling as their youngest child will graduate from high school nest year! She currently works part-time as a home care provider which perfectly matches her desire to serve others who are in need. John Bannantine was saved by the grace of Jesus in Spring of 1994. He has been a member of Stonebrook since Summer of 1999. He works as a research scientist at the USDA facility in Ames and has been married for 30-plus years.
Daniel works full-time at Pressure Point Cleaners, a power washing company in Ames, helping people schedule cleanings for their homes. He and his wife, Lydia, serve the Music Ministry on Sunday Mornings by mixing on the soundboard (Daniel) and singing on stage (Lydia). He also helps direct the financial reporting of Stonebrook alongside the Financial Team. In his spare time, he enjoys playing board games, video games, and card games, listening to music, mixing music, and dancing.
Heidi has worked at Stonebrook since 2002. She does the church bookkeeping, writes the bulletins, and manages the office calendar, among many other things. Heidi is married to Ron and they have four grown sons.
Luke is serving at Stonebrook as a pastor focusing on evangelism and discipleship, and he also leads our campus ministry efforts. He, his wife Holly, and their four children work as a team to welcome new friends into their home each year as they reach out to Iowa State and the Ames community. Terri has attended Stonebrook since 1981, and has been married to Matt since 2010. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in Home Economics Education. Terri is responsible for event planning, project management, and office management duties at Stonebrook. Ben has been married to his wife Jing since July 2016 and they live together with two cats. He has been working in the financial services industry since 2007, currently specializing in metrics reporting and data analysis.
Cliff has been attending Stonebrook since 2001 after getting involved with the college ministry. Seven years later, he finally talked his wife, Naomi, into marrying him and they now have 4 children. As a deacon he focuses on projects that fall outside of all the other deacon’s responsibilities. Dan has served as a deacon since 2015, previously focusing on finances and communication, now with a focus on Sunday School administration. He and his wife Stephanie have four small children. He enjoys the elusive pursuit of smoking the perfect beef brisket. Dan works as a product design engineer.
Mike has been married to Judy Anderson for 37 years. He came to know the Lord during his sophomore year in college. After being pursued by Chris Biang, he made the choice to follow Christ when he was a senior, and chose to stay in Ames to grow with the church, which was known then as ISU Bible Study. Mike works as a professor at Iowa State University.
Dave Bovenmyer has been a pastor since 1974. Dave and Dawn currently lead a prayer/counseling ministry that has helped many deeply hurting people. Happily married since 1975, Dave and Dawn are the parents of seven children and have nine grandchildren.
Brad has a passion for teaching the Bible and making it relevant to everyday life, whether in large groups or one-on-one counseling. He and his wife Annette are both Iowa-born-and-raised, and they have four adult daughters and six grandchildren who provide him “more joy than a human should be allowed to have.”
Matt serves as pastor focusing on teaching, and leadership development. He and his wife Nancy have four daughters. He is a musician and led in Stonebrook’s music ministry for 15 years before putting the guitar down. Matt is an avid reader and massive sci-fi geek.
