  3. Read Psalm 118, Acts 4:11 & 1 Peter 2:7-8. Why is Christ the cornerstone the builder’s rejected?
  4. What did the chief priest, scribes and elders realize about this parable as told by Jesus? What can be learned about the danger of continuing to reject Jesus and his teachings?
  5. Who were the Herodians, and what was their true motive in questioning Jesus about paying taxes to Caesar?
  6. How did Jesus handle their hypocritical trap?
  7. What are we to learn from this interaction between Jesus and the Pharisees/Herodians?
  8. Even if they don’t respect the current elected governmental leaders, what are ways Christians today can live under governmental authority while still honoring God’s authority?

  3. How can I show honor to the governmental authorities that have been elected even when I may not like or agree with the way things are run? What should I do when governmental laws conflict with what I know God wants me to do?
