  2. What are the four different kind of hearts that a person can exhibit according to this parable? What is each type of heart influenced by?
  3. What was recorded as Jesus's first and last command to the crowd during his teaching in verses 4:1-9?
  4. Explain what Jesus meant when he quoted Isaiah 6:9-10 in verse 4:12?

Application:

1. In what ways do I find myself actively battling against the world (shallow soil), the flesh(thorny soil) and the devil(the path)? (Ephesians 2:1-3) What has Jesus given me to help me in this battle?

2. Who is someone I could be praying for that exhibits a hard heart, a shallow heart, a crowded heart and a fruitful heart? Pray for them now individually or in community with your study group.
