Discussion
1.Why was it important that Jesus send out the Twelve on this mission?
2.Why did he send them in pairs? Hint: See Deuteronomy 19:15 and 2
Corinthians 13:1.
3.Why did he tell them to not take many possessions and to stay in the first
house they entered?
4.What was Jesus doing during that time that prompted the people to speculate
about his role as a prophet? What were the people not grasping that they
considered him merely a prophet and not the long-awaited Messiah?
Application
1.The Twelve took some bold steps to preach and heal as Jesus had. What
inhibits you to be bold like them? What helps you to be bold in the face of
fears and doubts as you strive to obey Jesus and speak about him to the
world? Share key promises from Scriptures in your answer.
2.Herod made a terrible decision based in fear: fear of his wife and his guests.
How does fear of people’s opinions affect you? What will help you to conquer
that fear this week? Read Proverbs 29:25; Galatians 1:10; John 5:44
